3              Walking – fantastic opportunities to walk here, whether in the numerous country parks on the fringes of the urban - such as Chatelherault, Strathclyde Loch or Calderglen, or up the upper valley of the Clyde. The river itself can be traced upstream on the Clyde Walkway which leads through nature reserves and past waterfalls up to the old county town of Lanark.

4              Fishing – locally, Quarter Fishery is conveniently located only half an hour's drive from Glasgow and 10 minutes drive from Hamilton and East Kilbride. and provides anglers with an idyllic, friendly and relaxing environment for an enjoyable days bait and fly fishing. 5              Wildlife watching – top amongst many wildlife watching opportunities, Falls of Clyde  is located within the World Heritage Site of New Lanark and part of the Clyde and Avon Valley Landscape Partnership, our fun four-star Visitor Centre allows people of all ages to learn more about the Falls of Clyde waterfalls, woodlands and the animals that live there. 7              Other equestrian  - Greenfields of Avondale, Strathaven is an equestrian training and competition facility located near the historic town of Strathaven. The Scottish Equestrian Centre Lanark is the UK’s largest horse Riding Holiday Centre. And Weston Farm, Lanark offers horse accommodation and many exciting riding opportunities in 900 acres of rural farmland

8              M&D's Theme Park  at Strathclyde Country Park - . Are you a thrill seeker or looking for the perfect family day out? Look no further thanM&D's Theme Park and indoor complex. 9              Strathclyde Park Watersports Centre - Host venue for rowing events and for the 2014 Commonwealth Games Triathlon event. The Centre is also the hub of all the land and water based activities within the Park, from watersports such as: windsurfing, water ski-ing, rowing, pedalos and bumper boats to land based activities including cycling and jogging. 

10           Strathaven Leisure Centre  - A multi-purpose sports and leisure facility. The Leisure Centre comprises of a 20 metre swimming pool, health suite containing a sauna, steam room and spa, the club fitness suite, multi purpose room and pool viewing area.

11           Hamilton Water Palace - Hamilton Water Palace offers a great day out for families and children. Swimming facilities range from a 25m competition pool through to a flume, lazy river, tyre slide and uniquely a shallow under 8's pool boasting an impressive pirate ship with interactive water features. 12           Go to the Cinema and theatre. Three great local cinemas are at Odeon East Kilbride (Finish off a great days out shopping at one Scotland’s largest indoor shopping centres with a trip to the cinema.), Showcase Cinema Complex Coatbridge Enjoy a great night out at this 18 screen cinema complex in Lanarkshire.
